In this article, we will analyze the inbound market trends to the Seychelles based on data from key markets, including Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, the UAE, the UK, and the US. The data reflects traveler trends from April 13 to April 20, 2023, compared to the previous seven days.
During the analyzed period, the Seychelles saw a slight increase in total inbound travelers, with a 1% increase in the Grand Total. However, some markets experienced changes in their average age, average budget, and average booking window.
The average age of travelers remained relatively stable, with most markets seeing no change. India and the UAE saw a 3% and 2% increase in the average age of their travelers, respectively.

Australia, China, Italy, and the UK saw small decreases in their average budget, while Germany and Russia saw a more significant decrease of 2% and 1%, respectively. On the other hand, Singapore and India saw increases of 1% and 3%, respectively.

When it comes to travel trends, we analyzed the reasons why travelers from the selected markets did not book with Seychelles hotels directly. Most travelers cited finding a lower price on OTAs as the top reason for not booking direct, followed by an unpleasant website booking experience and a lack of trust in the website. Other reasons included not being able to find the website.
The data also shows that some markets experienced changes in their inbound tourism trends. The most significant increase was seen in India, which saw a 17% increase in the average budget and a 3% increase in the average age of their travelers. The UAE also saw a 123% increase in their average budget, although the average age of their travelers remained stable.
On the other hand, some markets saw a decrease in their inbound tourism trends. France and the UK experienced a decrease in the average age of their travelers, while Germany and Russia saw a decrease in the average budget. Japan also saw a decrease in their average age and budget, indicating a potential shift in their traveler demographic.
Overall, the Seychelles saw a slight increase in inbound travelers during the analyzed period. While some markets experienced changes in their average age, budget, and booking window, most remained stable. Understanding these market trends can help Seychelles hotels and tourism authorities tailor their marketing strategies to attract and retain travelers from key markets.
